09-05-01 - Launch - 13 days and Counting. Launch month! We are almost there.

09-05-02 - Launch - 12 days and Counting. All quiet on the Herschel front

09-05-03 - Launch - 11 days and Counting. This was the archtypal lazy Sunday

09-05-04 - Launch - 10 days and Counting. Woke up during the night with a bad headache

09-05-10 - Launch - 4 days and Counting.A morning of cleaning, tidying, washing and organising and then watched a less than thrilling Spanish Grand Prix.

09-05-11 - Launch - 3 days and Counting. Launch week!

09-05-12 - Launch - 2 days and Counting.We are getting regular updates from Kourou.

09-05-13 - Launch - 1 days and Counting. It’s tomorrow!

09-05-14 - Launch day. What a day! Everything went perfectly. Absolutely perfectly.

09-05-15 - Day 1. After the strong emotions of yesterday this was a much quieter day

09-05-16 - Day 2. It is hard to believe that we are actually in space

09-05-17 - Day 3.Things continue to be quiet

09-05-18 - Day 4. Things continue to be relatively quiet in terms of problems.

09-05-19 - Day 5. Today has been a good day for Herschel

09-05-20 - Day 6.  Another good day of solid progress with several big highlights for us

09-05-21 - Day 7. After the huge tension of yesterday today has seen yet another important piece of progress and yet another potentially conflictive test passed with flying colours

09-05-22 - Day 8. Today I was not meant to be working

09-05-23 - Day 9. This was a quite quiet, although very successful day for Herschel

09-05-24 - Day 10.  What a difference a day makes.

09-05-25 - Day 11. Today has been a quiet day.

09-05-26 - Day 12.  Today Herschel has passed yet another huge obstacle in its path to being completely operational.

09-05-27 - Day 13.  Astonishingly, this is all becoming routine

09-05-28 - Day 14. Today was a long and tiring day.

09-05-29 - Day 15.Friday. Hooray!

09-05-30 - Day 16. So much for taking my bicycle to the workshop yesterday evening

09-05-31 - Day 17.  It was too good to last
