Amateur astronomers have always had a major
role to play in comet observing. In the last few years with CCD cameras
of high quality attached to telescopes typically in the 20-40 cm
diameter
range their work has increased rapidly in importance in the field of
astrometry
and CCD photometry. Amateur astronomers are becoming ever more
important
in the study of Near Earth Objects (NEOs) too and much excellent
quality
data is taken.
These pages show a sample of the work that is being done by a dedicated group of amateur astronomers in Spain.
If you are interested in comet observing, sign up for the related discussion group where amateurs and professionals discuss observations and observing techniques in a friendly environment. The forum's working language is Spanish, but messages in English are accepted.
